What can a young adult do to live a long and healthy life?

What are soem things a young adult can do to live a long life?
I mean like in you 20’s not teens. lol.

My mom’s been teaching me and my siblings about being healthy for a long time. One of the most important things she’s taught us is GO NATURAL. Try to eat as much natural and organic foods as possible.
Don’t use artificial sweeteners such as Splenda. No matter what they tell you, plain old sugar is always better than an artificial sweetener because of the aspertame in it. Aspertame is bad! It’s in most gum and low calorie drinks.
Try not to use a microwave a lot. We don’t even have one anymore. Have you heard not to stand to close to a microwave while it’s cooking something? Well, don’t eat it then, cuz it’s just as bad!
Use natural toothpaste and deodorant.
And exercise. It’s probably the most important way to keep you feeling young and healthy.

How do I make sure my Cat lives a long and healthy life?

I feed her one of the best foods I get from the pet store,

She has her vacinations and checkups up to date.

She is also spayed!!

I give her My Love and attention when she wants it.

Am I missing anything out? If so please let me know? I want her to live a long life!
I do keep her inside, I never let her out!

I think you have just about got it all covered. Just make sure she gets lots of physical and mental stimulation through playing with her regularly. Brush and comb her daily to prevent the build up of hairballs. Make sure she drinks plenty of water and offer mostly wet food, dry food makes the digestive system work too hard and can cause constipation. Avoid feeding her scraps or human foods. And finally examine her body and teeth regularly in between visits to the vet. Make sure the home is safe and be sure that any flowers or plants you have are not poisonous. Apart from these you are doing a great job! So well done.

How do I have an active life while doing it?

Do what ever it is you do now. Hang out with friends at your house or theirs, talk on the phone, meet friends at the mall. Just because you won’t be attending your local brick-and-mortar school doesn’t mean you can’t attend some of the after school activities like ball games or dances. Try something new like volunteering or taking an class in something you’re interested in. Join your local homeschooling group to meet new people.

What are some things that i can do to make sure my turtle lives a long healthy life?

I have had her for 3 and a half years now and keep her in a 20 gallon tank. I feed her pellets and that just about it. I have a fluorescent light for her and a ramp so she can dry off. What are some things that i can do for her so that she is happy and healthy?

When I was still in the seminary, we have these red eared turtle for more than 20 years, Our seminary had it during the 80’s i think 1986 to be exact. but until now they are still alive. your turtle must have a partner and should have a bigger aquarium or a pond to make them more active. we just fed them pellets and they tend to eat our fish in the pond. maybe that is what make them live for more than 2 decades. hope this would help.

What vitamins and minerals for a healthy life?

I excercise and study very hard. I dont get to have a healthy meal so I guess im lacking some important nutrients in my diet. However, Im taking in a lot of protein.
I hope to get some tablets from the pharmacy.

What vitamins, minerals, calcium, iron, etc will I need?

(for example, will i need a lot of Vit B complex?)
Im a 22 year old male.

I take more supplements than anyone I know, but I am a woman so I won’t bring up the ones you wouldn’t need.
You should at the very least take a good multivitamin. In addition:
Vitamins C and E
B Complex
Calcium
Beta Carotene
Lecithin
deodorized garlic (Spring Valley from Walmart is the only one I’ve found that is truly odorless)
Ginseng if you are lacking energy
There wll probably be enough iron for a man in your multivitamin if you get one with iron.
Cinnamon capsules

Some of these are for cholesterol control to prevent problems later on.

Can he/she function normally and healthily in daily life?

I don’t think so, unless they eat eggs. because although the veggies and fruits are healthy, you need to be able to have access to protein.

How do I lose weight-the healthy and life long way-?

I have struggled with losing weight since I was young, I want to lose weight steadily, and (I know I know, should be the priority, but) quickly, but be healthy and make this a life long change.

I don’t want to diet, I’m not cutting out carbs or anything, and the most working out I can do a day, with school and all, is round bout 30 mins to an hour. I need help.

Any tips? Workout ideas? I tend to get bored easily? Whats most effective and burns the most calories? Does milk really help? And what are healthy foods to snack on? I’m a bad muncher!! Thanks!!!

They key is somthing that you enjoy doing. The ones that give drastic results right away are also the ones that dont last over the long haul.

As far as burning fat that means doing cardio. This is as simple as speed walking. Seriously, just speed walking can do the trick. it gets your heart rate up and you can keep it there longer than if you were running or jogging. It is also easier on your joints. It also helps to tone and tighten muscles while burning off those calories. It is free, you can do it anywhere, anytime of day, infact doing it in the morning or afternoon helps to kick start your motabolism. Thus giving you more energy that will last longer through the day.

Like you said healthy eating is the key and not just a diet. Lots of fruits and veggies for vitamins, carbs are good in the morning as they are fuel for your body and mind.

As far as the snacking goes figure out specifically what you crave. Is it somthing crunchy or a bit sweet? With that in mind go to the store and look in the health food isles and see if you can find that crunchy or sweet healthy thing that is actually good for you. Dont forget it is okay to eat somthing bad in moderation. This sounds silly but i like crunchy with a little sweet so i eat one all bran bar. Hey it is good for me, what is wrong with fibre.

What is the best way to live your life SIMPLE and HEALTHY?

I am not asking much really, I just want simple happy healthy life style. I am 40 and single. I owns a house and a car that are fully paid for. I like to live my life at minimum. I am not just talking about material, but social spiritual level as well. Any good thought on this ? Fitness For Long Healthy Life

People who are physically fit, as measured by a high level of cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF), are less likely to develop heart disease and less likely to die from any cause, a study shows. Researchers say it is rare for doctors to consider cardiorespiratory fitness in evaluating a person's risk of future heart disease or death, mostly because the degree of risk reduction associated with different levels of physical fitness was unclear. But a review of studies shows that people with a low level of cardiorespiratory fitness have a 70 percent higher risk of death from any cause compared with those with a high level of fitness. In the review, researchers analyzed the relationship between physical fitness, expressed by cardiorespiratory fitness, and the risk of death found in 33 different studies involving nearly 190,000 people. Cardiorespiratory fitness is measured through exercise stress testing, in which participants typically exercise by walking on a treadmill until they become fatigued or feel exhaustion. CRF was then estimated as maximal aerobic capacity expressed in metabolic equivalents (METs). METs indicate the amount of oxygen the body consumes during activity and represents a standard scale on which to measure exercise workload. One MET is equivalent to the oxygen the body uses at rest. Being able to attain a high degree of oxygen use during exercise, and therefore have a high MET level, is an indicator of physical fitness. The researchers found that compared to those with a high CRF, those with low cardiorespiratory fitness had a 70 percent higher risk of death from any cause and a 56 percent higher risk of heart disease events, such as heart attack or stroke. Compared to those with an intermediate level of physical fitness, those with a low CRF had a 40 percent higher risk of death from any cause and 47 percent higher risk of heart events. Lexington counseling researchers say a minimal level of cardiorespiratory fitness of 7.9 METs may be important for overall health. Expressed in terms of walking speed, men around 50 years of age should be able to walk at a continuous speed of 4 miles per hour and women should be able to walk 3 miles per hour, on level ground, or be able to complete at least six minutes of a standard treadmill stress test - which involves walking up an incline, but at a slower pace. They found even a 1-MET increase in physical fitness was associated with a 13 percent lower risk of death from any cause and 15 percent lower risk of heart disease. To put that in perspective, the difference between riding a cart with fiber diet and walking while playing golf is 1 MET level.
