What Gum Disease Really Is
Common dental disease such as gum disease is a family of related chronic inflammatory diseases whereby caused by bacterial infections. Red, swollen and bleeding gums are the results of gum disease which can lead to the connective tissues and destruction of the bones that is holding the teeth in place. Gum disease is a serious dental condition that is the major cause of tooth loss, not only in adults but in teenagers as well. Healthy gums appear pale pink in color, smooth and firmly form a peak between adjacent teeth. To have healthy gums, one should always observe proper brushing and flossing of teeth daily to keep all sorts of bacteria at bay.
