When Can Periodontal Surgery Become Important?

The oral anaerobic bacteria can continue to reproduce can cause gums to become inflamed, red and bleeding easily, and gradually creating deeper periodontal pockets through bone and destruction when gum disease is left untreated. Gum disease progression can eventually cause receding gums and major loss of teeth, as well as, other medical health concerns like heart attack, stroke and diabetes. In advanced gum disease cases, periodontal surgery is of the essence. Undergoing a periodontal surgery is a big decision to make, as it involves considering the correct client, cooperative dental patient, a treatable tooth and the appropriate periodontal surgery to use.
